Tarore and her book

Tarore and her book.

There was a little girl called Tarore who brought peace by wearing a precious Taonga . When she got her kete (flax basket ) from the Browns .  The kete held the Gospel of Luke .  Inside the kete it  had a message and it also had the words of peace  . In 1836 the mission school had to be moved to Tauranga . Ngakuku which is Tarore's father and a mission worker took a lot of children through the bush .  A raiding party from Te Arawa found them close to  near the Wairere Falls   .  When Tarore was sleeping some warriors from another part of the country thought the kete  looked special because they thought  that something precious was in it like treasure,  so they killed her and stole it.  Then when the warriors read the   message they felt sad for the little girl so they went back to  Tarore’s Father and asked for forgiveness
